Kate earned an MLIS from the Information School at the University of WA, in 2002, and began her career as an academic librarian at Bainbridge Graduate Institute in 2004. In 2010 she embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure, which soared, then failed in the wake of health care consolidation. She is both intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial; has worked for big corporations in the banking sector, higher education, and for herself. She is deeply committed to, and volunteers for an inter-generational artisan and craft community on Bainbridge Island.
