Vice President of Enrollment Management

Position Summary

The Vice President of Enrollment Management (VP) provides high-level leadership, motivation, and coordination of new student recruitment, retention, and financial aid with proven data-driven results. The VP will create and execute a comprehensive enrollment plan, establish department policies, and is responsible for meeting projected goals in admissions, financial aid, and retention. Reporting to the President, the VP must be innovative and skilled at promoting current academic programs, as well as bringing forth recommendations for expansion opportunities. S/he supports the development of team members, establishes and actively maintains expertise of best practices, and is extremely organized and efficient as a key member of the President’s senior leadership team. In addition to being a strategist, the VP will be an execution-driven team player and is passionate about Presidio Graduate School (PGS)’s unique mission to educate leaders to build a more just and sustainable world.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Create, execute, and actively maintain a strategic action plan for enrollment management aligned with Presidio Graduate School’s priorities and mission
  • Oversee recruitment, admissions, and retention of students, as well as managing scholarship and financial aid award process
  • Serve as a top member of the President’s senior leadership team
  • Promote growth and success of the admissions team through direct and indirect supervision
  • Foster efforts to attract and retain a student body equipped for success at PGS who are diverse ethnically, racially, culturally, socioeconomically, geographically, and in other ways
  • Research, develop and help build new degree programs and non-degree offerings aligned with PGS’s mission and strategic objectives
  • Lead and participate in enrollment management events
  • Create and sustain a culture of shared ownership of enrollment management; educate the PGS community on best practices in enrollment management
  • Establish and monitor short and long-range goals, objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, policies, and operating procedures
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing & Communications and other team members to develop a marketing strategy, target audiences, and to establish multi-year targets and measurement
Qualifications & Characteristics
  • Master’s degree (preferred in higher education, administration, marketing, or related field)
  • 10+ years of experience in higher education (graduate level preferred)
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in senior-level enrollment management, preferably in private, non-profit higher education
  • Keen persuasive ability to present high-level data and strategic vision
  • Technically savvy and meticulously organized
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to excel in a matrix environment and build collaborative relationships
  • Motivated by ambiguity, innovation, and exploring cutting edge opportunities in the education space and beyond
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to devise solutions to complex problems and effectively manage multiple long and short- term strategies, programs, and objectives
  • Natural ability to bring an energetic, action-driven attitude and enjoyment to daily work
  • Analytical, data-informed, and outcomes-oriented; experienced in data analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and revenue generation.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds of students
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary

This position is located in the Presidio in San Francisco until June 2020; at that time,
the organization will move offices with precise location TBD, but the high priority is for the new office to be in walking distance to a BART stop. PGS has a flexible culture and telecommuting is possible 1-2 days per week, position depending.
