The Seattle Metro MBA in Sustainable Management is designed for international students. Classes are conducted primarily at the historic Masins Building in the Pioneer Square area. This unique facility also houses Social Venture Partners and Impact Hub Seattle, a co-working space for social entrepreneurs. Additional class sessions may be held at IslandWood on Bainbridge Island.
The curriculum covers traditional business fundamentals all through the lens of sustainability. Students learn conventional and non-conventional theory while working in teams on real-world applied projects. An integrated series of leadership courses round out the curriculum to help students develop the leadership skills necessary to lead organizational change and implementation of sustainability programs.
In the second year of the program, students take courses to satisfy requirements for concentrations in sustainable finance, energy and climate, multisectoral solutions, or entrepreneurship. Students also continue building organizational leadership and career development competencies.
Courses are conducted in person during weekly evening classes at the Masins Building. Additional class sessions may be held at IslandWood. Distance learning technology is used as an additional resource for student team project work, mentoring sessions with professors, and hosting guest speakers.
