April Atwood has combined her focus on marketing and consumer psychology with her passion for the environment in the form of courses focused on environmental management dating from the 1990s.  She has taught sustainability-related business courses at several universities and institutions.  She is Vice-Chair of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee for King County, Washington, serves on the Board of the Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children, and is a Beach Naturalist with the Seattle Aquarium.
