Dr. Southern’s work is focused on creating cultures of collaboration in public, private, and non-profit organizations and local communities. She works with senior and mid-management teams to help build their capacity for engaging in meaningful conversations to systemically address their challenges and create organizational cultures that support their mission. Dr. Southern has experience building learning communities and dynamic teams that can work effectively together through appreciating the cultural differences they bring and learning to communicate in ways that spark creativity and innovation.
Dr. Southern chaired the PhD program in Organizational Systems at Saybrook University from 2008-2015. She now teaches part time at multiple universities and serves on the editorial boards of Integral Leadership Review, Journal for Transformative Education, and the OD Practitioner, while making her home in Northern New Mexico.
