International students are eligible to apply to PGS’s MBA in Sustainable Business, our Seattle-based Metro MBA program. The Certificates and MBA in Sustainable Systems Hybrid and our San Francisco MBA/MPA based programs are hybrid formats (blending online and in-person) and are not available to international students who require a student visa.
Steps for applying to Presidio Graduate School as an international student:
Please see the Department of State web site below for more information on student visas and applications: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html
International applicants whose baccalaureate degree was not completed in English must provide evidence of English proficiency by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or The International English Language Testing System Exam (IELTS).
International applicants with extensive work experience or previous study in the U.S. may be eligible for a waiver and may request to have the English Language Proficiency Requirement waived.
If you think your TOEFL/IELTS exam should be waived, please contact the Admissions Office.
In order for PGS to issue the Certificate of Visa Eligibility (Form I-20 or DS-2019), U.S. immigration policies requires Presidio Graduate School to verify the financial resources of all international applicants. International applicants must therefore complete and submit accurate information regarding their sources of financial support using the International Student Declaration of Finances.
Commonly international students have a sponsor such as a relative or spouse who will complete this form for them and be responsible for ensuring payment for the student’s tuition, fees, and living expenses is available.
All documents must be in English or accompanied with an official English translation.
U.S. immigration policies require that, in order to qualify for a student visa, an international student must have the financial resources available to pay for tuition and fees as well as living expenses for the duration of the program. International students are not eligible for federal financial aid, nor are they eligible for working within the U.S. during the duration of the program. Therefore, these financial resources must be documented and verified by a bank or financial institution.
The International Student Declaration of Finances form confirms that the student has the financial means to pay for the tuition, fees, and living expenses associated with enrolling in the MBA in Sustainable Business program at PGS.
International students are responsible for the entire cost of the MBA program, including tuition and fees, books and supplies, living expenses while residing in the Seattle area, as well as travel and transportation costs. Please refer to the tuition and fees page for most up to date costs. International students are eligible for scholarships.
Living expenses are based on an estimate for what students will need for room and board and other associated costs while attending school in the U.S. This is just an estimate and the student should consider how much money they will need to live in the Seattle area while attending the program.
The declaration of finances form does not include costs for travel to and from the the U.S. for the program, and it is advised that the student consider these costs during the application process.
An additional consideration is that the MBA in Sustainable Business program is estimated to be a 24-month program in duration. Therefore, ultimately international students must have the finances for the entire duration of the program. Please refer to the tuition and fees page for most up to date costs.
