Candidates must apply as one of three types of Certificate Candidate:
Non-Degree Candidates are students who are not currently enrolled in any PGS degree program. This option is best for candidates that are looking to gain specialized sustainability management skills and may have already completed a master’s or PhD program. The certificate will appear on an official PGS transcript and courses are accredited and transferable. Non-Degree Candidates pay the standard per-credit tuition rate, as well as administrative fees, (not including the HUB fee). Certificate students are not eligible for PGS scholarships.
PGS employees interested in the Certificate program are considered Non-Degree Candidates.
To apply, Non-Degree Candidates must submit to the Admissions Department:

All candidates are also responsible for obtaining all required texts for course participation. Required booklists are distributed to candidates upon registration and are hosted on the PGS Network.

All Certificate Program participants who successfully complete the requirements of the program will be considered PGS Alumni.
Candidates are accepted into the certificate program on a rolling basis and are strongly encourages to submit all required documents as early as possible. All application materials must be submitted at least four weeks before the beginning of the first-semester residency. Additional application materials or interview may also be requested by the Admissions Committee.
Degree Candidates are students enrolled in a PGS Degree program. This option is best for candidates that are looking to gain specialized sustainability management skills while earning their degree at PGS. The certificate will appear on an official PGS transcript and courses are accredited and transferable. Degree Candidates pay the standard per-credit tuition rate, as well as administrative fees and HUB fees. Students on LOA are not eligible for the Certificate Program.
Alumni Candidates have completed a PGS degree program. These students complete the certificate program by taking the required certificate courses for credit at the alumni discount rate of $250 per credit unit. Please be advised that certificates cannot be obtained through the Alumni Audit Program. Alumni must submit an Application Form and list the course(s) they intend to enroll in at least four weeks prior to the first residency of the semester. No additional supporting documents are required with the application form.
