Presidio Graduate School (PGS) acknowledges that it signed and filed with the U.S. Department of Education (ED) the Recipient’s Funding Certification and Agreement Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on July 28, 2020, via grants.gov. PGS assures that the institution intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students, under the name of CARES Act Student Emergency Aid Grant at PGS.
2. On September 24, 2020, PGS received from ED the total amount of funds of $19,204 pursuant to the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
3. As of September 23, 2020, PGS has notified students of the award and plans to start distribution in October 2020. No students have received funding as of September 23, 2020.
4. The total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in the programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 76*.
5. PGS will use the following method to determine eligibility:

• Must have a 2019-2020 FAFSA on file
• Must be/have been pursuing a Title IV eligible degree program in the spring 2020 term
• Must be/have been enrolled in a PGS degree program as of 3/13/2020

We are pleased to inform you that Presidio Graduate School has launched the CARES Emergency Aid Grant. The Grant will award funds from the federal government for students who have been impacted by COVID-19. This program may qualify you for a modest emergency grant this fall.

Specifically, we are writing to you because you meet the first two criteria for the grant: you were enrolled in Spring 2020 and Fall 2021 at PGS, and you have a FAFSA on file. The final criterion is whether you are in need of an emergency grant to cover expenses related to the disruption of PGS on-campus operations due to coronavirus. If you are in need of this grant (likely $400-$500), please submit this form by October 1st, 2020. The grant will be evenly distributed between the students who apply. Checks will be mailed by October 31st, 2020.

What are some examples of emergency expenses related to the disruption of campus?

The Emergency Financial Aid Grants are for expenses that are defined by the Federal government as related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care).

Will this grant affect my financial aid or scholarship funding?

No, this grant will not have an effect on any financial aid or scholarship funding you might receive.

Will PGS be auditing or otherwise checking my financial emergency need?

No, this grant is on an honor system and we will be awarding the grant to any student who certifies they are in need of the emergency funding.

What happens to the funding I would have received if I don’t apply for the grant?

PGS has received a total amount of money—a little over $19,000—that we will be disbursing to students. We will divide the funds evenly by the number of students who certify their need. Thus, if you do not require the funding, other students who do apply will receive a slightly higher disbursement.

The total amount of funds that the institution has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) program is $44,860. 

The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) programs as of July 10th is $19,204.

The estimated total number of students at the institution that are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is 144.

The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is 42. 

All students were notified of their ability to request aid under this grant on February 3, 2021. Those with exceptional financial need were encouraged to apply for aid by filling out a form where they were asked to describe the nature of their COVID-19-related financial hardship(s). The aid was evenly distributed between the students who applied.

All students were notified that the aid should be used to cover their cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care.

The estimated total number of students at the institution that are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is 144.

All students were notified of their ability to request aid under this grant on February 3, 2021. Those with exceptional financial need were encouraged to apply for aid by filling out a form where they were asked to describe the nature of their COVID-19-related financial hardship(s). The aid was evenly distributed between the students who applied.

All students were notified that the aid should be used to cover their cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care.

Presidio Graduate School (PGS) acknowledges that it signed and filed with the U.S. Department of Education (ED) the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (a)(1) Student Aid grant on February 2021, via grants.gov. PGS assures that the institution intends to use all of the funds to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under section 2003(a)(1) funding is 12.  

Students with financial need were encouraged to apply for aid by filling out a form where they were asked to describe the nature of the financial hardship(s). The aid was distributed after evaluating the students estimated family contribution (EFC), the cost of attendance (COA), and any additional circumstances documenting the nature of their COVID-19-related financial hardship(s). Aid was distributed based on a sliding scale awarding more aid to those with greater need.
