Emily attended college in Oregon and received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Portland.
Most recently, Emily was Associate Director of Foundation Relations and Grants Management at The Rockefeller University, a leading biomedical research institute in New York. In this role, she managed the entirety of the grants process including researching prospective donors, conducting site visits, and writing proposals and reports. At Rockefeller, her fundraising supported medical research grants and fellowships for scientists, as well as large institutional grants. Emily also worked closely with Rockefeller’s Science Outreach Program, which provides educational opportunities to high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Her efforts helped lead to a significant increase in funding for this program.
In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling to locales ranging from Napa to Nepal. She is an avid runner and loves to spend time outdoors. Since moving to the hills of San Francisco recently, she has discovered a newfound appreciation for “urban hiking!”
