Erik Distler

Erik Distler, is a consultant and advisor operating at the intersection of social and environmental responsibility and the sports industry, where he’s focused approximately the last ten years of his career. Erik has vast experience within purpose-driven partnerships and engagement across communities, fans, and athletes as well as a deep network across sports properties, corporations, non-profits & NGOs, and the public sector. Erik served as the Senior Director, Global Sustainability Engagement, Future of Sport at Nike and was responsible for establishing and leading the sport sector strategy within the sustainability function. Erik held a leadership role at the Green Sports Alliance, serving as a strategic advisor to corporations and sports properties, including ESPN, the North American professional leagues and governing bodies, and the Pac-12 Conference. Erik’s background also includes corporate social responsibility consulting at PwC, advising the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, and higher education teaching & curriculum development within sports sustainability and leadership.
Erik currently works as the VP of Energy & Environment at AEG, holds a Master of Public Administration in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School, and an undergraduate degree with Honors and High Distinction in Accounting and Finance from Iowa State University.
