PGS provided an opportunity to dive deep into recycling and zero waste research that I am passionate about, including extended producer responsibility, food ware policies to reduce single-use plastic packaging pollution, and clothing and textile recycling.

During my last semester, I landed my dream job with the City of Mountain View as Senior Management Analyst in the Solid Waste section of Public Works. This new municipal role builds on my over 14 years of experience in the solid waste and recycling field, most recently for the last 7 years with the City of Union City’s recycling division.

In my new role, I apply a systems-thinking approach learned at Presidio to arrive at strategic community solutions that are both effective and equitable. I am also adept at working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders from the public, private and non-profit sectors. I look forward to leading Mountain View’s compliance with SB 1383 and other state and local regulations to achieve our Zero Waste Plan goal of 90% waste diversion from landfill by 2030.
