Rachel Loud

Director of Community Engagement & Development

As the Director of Community Engagement & Development, I am responsible for all aspects of PGS’s fundraising program and alumni engagement efforts.

I realized I was an environmentalist in kindergarten and I’ve continued on that path ever since. I have a degree in biology and environmental science with a minor in mathematics from Olivet College in Michigan. After graduating, I pursued environmental education which combined my love of biology and working with people and lived on Catalina Island working as a marine science instructor. I moved to the Bay Area to work for NatureBridge as an educator and education manager. I transitioned to their national fundraising team, gaining experience in a variety of fundraising areas before arriving at PGS.

My specific passions include the ocean, animals, and volunteering. I’ve volunteered weekly at The Marine Mammal Center on an animal care crew for the last 12 years. I’ve also volunteered for OneReef, a coral reef conservation organization, and traveled to Palau to work with the local community on sustainably managing their coral reefs. I love snorkeling/diving, traveling to experience different cultures, looking for wildlife, and jigsaw puzzles. I’m also looking forward to earning my MBA at PGS in the future.
