Sally Jernigan-Smith arrived to Presidio Graduate School in May 2016, a year after graduating from Skidmore College in New York State with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs and Religions Studies. Her true passions, though, lie in Environmental Sustainability and Spanish. Having worked in the sustainable food industry while completing her studies, Sally took time to backpack around South America before landing in the Bay Area. When she returned to the U.S., Sally knew she wanted to find somewhere that values sustainability and passion in the workplace.
Various prior roles, including administrative positions and the presidency of the Skidmore Environmental Action Club, have prepared Sally for the position of Events and Program Coordinator with the Presidio Graduate School. The post pushes Sally to find creative ways to enhance residencies and PGS events to be as productive and exciting for all involved.
A Massachusetts native, Sally is excited to become acquainted with the beautiful Bay Area and extend her awareness of all the West Coast has to offer. She is especially enthusiastic about exploring hiking opportunities and the food culture.
