Marsha Willard, PhD

Adjunct Professor

My mission is to facilitate individuals and organizations through the process of making responsible, ethical, and sustainable choices. My consulting practice, AXIS Performance Advisors, founded in 1990, evolved naturally from an original focus on quality and workplace empowerment to sustainability. In the last 30 years, I have had the opportunity to facilitate the implementation of sustainable practices with organizations across all industries: public, private, and non-profit.

Along the way, I learned a lot from my clients and my research which resulted in more than seven business books including The award-winning, Business Guide to Sustainability and The Step by Step Guide to Sustainability Planning. My work as a teacher and founder/first Executive Director of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals allows me to foster the next generation of sustainability professionals as well as grow and develop the sustainability profession, its code of conduct and professional competencies.
