Tuition rates and fees for the 2017-2018 academic year are based on semester enrollment and are as follows for MBA, MPA, Dual Degree, and Certificate students:

San Francisco Hybrid Degree Programs:

  • Full-time:
    • $33,750 per annum
    • 15 units per semester
  • Part-time:
    • $18,000 per annum
    • 8 units per semester

Seattle Metro: MBA

  • Full-time:
    • $33,750 per annum
    • 10 units per term
  • Part-time:
    • $16,875 per annum
    • 5 units per term

Seattle Hybrid at IslandWood: MBA

  • Full-time:
    • $33,750 per annum
    • 15 units per semester


San Francisco Hybrid Certificates:

  • Certificate in Sustainable Energy Solutions
    • $11,250 tuition
    • 3 courses (10 units)*
  • Certificate in Sustainable Food and Agricultural Systems

*note: the Seattle based certificates will be transitioning to semester courses starting fall 2018.


Fees are used to support student activities and the operation of facilities. All fees appearing on the student account are payable whether or not the student plans to use these services or facilities related to those fees. Mandatory Student Fees are charged every semester and cannot be waived.

  • Administrative Fee – $150 per semester (All programs)
    • Covers record-keeping costs and provides student access to copyrighted material used in all academic programs.
  • Technology Fee – $65 per semester (All programs)
    • Covers acquisition, upgrading, and/or maintenance of technology used for academic and student support activities.
  • Classroom Materials Fee – $85 per semester (PGS100 excluded from this fee)
    • Covers all in-class assessments and course readers throughout all academic programs.
  • Monthly IslandWood Room and Board – Thursday-Sunday overnight accommodations and freshly prepared meals (based on quad occupancy three (3) nights per month) ~ $5,000 per semester (Seattle Hybrid MBA only)

Note regarding San Francisco, Seattle Metro Degree Programs, and Certificate students:

All students are responsible for their own meals, lodging, and transportation costs and should prepare to spend an average of $50 to $200 on textbooks for each course.

Note regarding the Seattle Hybrid MBA students:

All students are responsible for their own transportation costs and should prepare to spend an average of $50 to $200 on textbooks for each course. Students are responsible for their own meals and lodging when not on campus at IslandWood during monthly residencies.
