Academic Dean Maggie Winslow & Professor Liz Leiba featured in TIME

Presidio's academic team shared their insight with TIME on the evolution of business education, and why so many traditional MBA programs are falling behind the curve on modern sustainability education.

OCT. 8, 2021 – Presidio Leads the Charge on Values-Driven Business Education

Earlier this month, TIME published a new piece on top-ranking MBA programs’ evolving nature: Inside the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Tomorrow’s Business Leaders. The article features commentary from our very own Academic Dean, Maggie Winslow, and MBA Professor Liz Leiba, alongside other leading academics.

The piece explores why so many large, traditional business schools have been so slow to incorporate the urgent subjects of sustainability and social justice into their core curriculum. The author perceives that “change has been slow…many major business schools have not overhauled tried-and-true programs, instead offering one-off courses on sustainability or ethics.”

On the other hand, Presidio “aims to include sustainability and social justice in every business course.” Maggie, one of our founders and a lifelong advocate of values-driven education, responded in true Presidian fashion: “We can’t do business as usual. We have to do new business.”
