Cecily Joseph

Advisor, Initiative for Equity and Social Justice

I am excited to be at Presidio Graduate School helping to grow thought leadership, research, and programs on equity and social justice. The vision is all about how we as sustainability and impact leaders can create a more equitable and just society where everyone is included.

With over 25 years in the corporate world working with startups and Fortune 500 companies, I have led efforts on social and environmental responsibility, ethics, and diversity. I have designed and implemented philanthropic programs, including those focused on bringing underrepresented groups such as women and people of color into the technology sector.  I am an ongoing champion for diversity and inclusion, having also served as chief diversity officer.

I am actively involved in the community and currently serve on the board of directors for Net Impact, a global nonprofit focused on inspiring and equipping emerging leaders to build a more just and sustainable world. I was honored to receive the CEDAW Award for Human Rights from the City of San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women, recognition as one of the Multicultural Leaders of California by the National Diversity Council, and recognition as one of the Most Influential People in Business Ethics by the Ethisphere Institute.

I have a law degree (JD) from Tulane University School of Law and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I enjoy traveling with my family, watching Nordic crime dramas, and listening to Al Green and Bob Marley.
