Kari Dorth

Director of Admissions

I joined the PGS team because I believe in our social mission. My education began at Loyola University of Chicago, where I earned a BA in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology.

Early in my career, I was a Business Operations Manager for a large floral and event planning company. I also worked at a non-profit floral business whose primary mission was to facilitate wellness and enrichment education. Working in the horticultural sector taught me the values of personal connection and appreciation of natural beauty. Volunteering on prairie restoration and other greening projects in the greater Chicagoland area introduced me to how necessary local, community-based action is to sustainability.

After moving to San Francisco in 2008, I made a career shift toward sustainability, managing Greenhome.com, an eCommerce company selling eco-friendly products. I learned how to use the power of business for change and how to teach business owners to make better choices. I continued my formal education by completing a Business Administration Certificate from Berkeley Extension and am currently pursuing my MBA at Presidio Graduate School.

As Director of Admissions, I create opportunities for students to pursue their passions and reach their goals. The community we are building here is making a positive impact on our future. I want to ensure the best candidates join us.

Outside work, I enjoy walking the beach with my two rescue dogs, gardening, or exploring the world. I am passionate about the environment, ecology, creative expression, and all things green.
