Nikki Vandivort

MBA/MPA, Sustainable Solutions

Nikki Vandivort has worked in environmental consulting since 2007 with expertise in wetland science, permitting, and endangered/threatened species. Wanting to switch into climate action work, she applied to PGS for the MPA program and quickly switched to the Dual program (because gnarly problems require solutions from all angles). At PGS she helped prepare a 50th Anniversary Celebration marketing plan for a climate-focused nonprofit, conducted an operations and supply chain analysis for a vegan seafood company, assisted in the preparation of a financial model for incentivizing the retrofit of greenhouse gas-polluting refrigeration systems in grocery stores, and took a deep dive into the implementation of city-led Climate Action Plans. In addition to her studies and work, in the last year of her program she has volunteered as a working group facilitator to develop a carbon offset program to fund tree canopy expansion in the City of Cincinnati through the Green Cincinnati Plan, and was trained as part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. She hopes to expand her role as a consultant through the development of a sustainability business line at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where she has been a Project Manager for the last six years, and push Climate Action Plan development and implementation in Ohio. She lives in Cincinnati with her husband, daughter, and mom.
