COVID-19 Information and Support

In accordance with current regulations and to safeguard the health and safety of our community, Presidio Graduate School’s learning facilities are not accessible to students, faculty, or staff. All academic courses are continuing without interruption in distance-learning formats. The administrative offices and student support services are fully operational while our staff works remotely.

Protecting the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff is our highest priority. We are closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic and are providing updates on our response to reported threats to the health and safety of our community on this web page and through email in accordance with Federal Campus Safety and Security requirements. We will use the emergency notification system enabled via Populi to send emails and text messages to each member of the community. To protect privacy rights, we will not disclose individual information.

Academic Updates

  • Since March 2020, in-person instruction has moved online, and we are continuing this policy through our Spring 2021 term. This is a temporary change due to extraordinary circumstances. We will return to our model with monthly in-person residencies as soon as we and our community deem it safe to do so.
  • Faculty have flexibility in the timing and schedule of residency instruction to best adapt the format to the needs of students in individual courses.
  • Students are completing all coursework online.
  • Commencement observances will continue to be held online until it is safe for our community to gather in person, and we will share updates as soon as they become available.

Admissions Updates

Presidio Graduate School is hosting all in-person admission events online until it is safe to bring people together again in person, including our class tours. Our admissions interviews and virtual open houses continue without interruption in virtual formats, and our team is on call to answer any questions. We are here to help potential new students and applicants with the decision to attend Presidio Graduate School and welcome opportunities to schedule a personal virtual meeting. We have also introduced several new interactive student Q&A group webinars.

The Round 2 deadline for Spring 2021 applications is October 15th. The final application deadline is December 1st.

The Coronavirus Assistance, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides emergency relief funding for individuals and organizations affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The CARES Act includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), which provides emergency funds for students and colleges and universities.

Care and Support Resources

Self Assessment

Some of us may vividly feel the pressure, and some of us may be unaware of how stress and uncertainty impact our moods and daily habits. Here is a self-care assessment that may help you become more aware of your state of being.

Self-Care Tips

We often think of self-care in terms of doing something, perhaps exercising, mediation, painting, journaling, or hiking. For many, these are essential means of care; however, there are many ways to practice caring for oneself:

  • Use natural healing products to care for and heal your body, especially lotion for excessive hand washing
  • Practice the art of self-management, allowing yourself to decline additional responsibilities so that you can maintain your balance
  • Limit your exposure to news, social media, and other forms of anxiety-producing output
  • Develop a healthy support system: people who contribute to your self-esteem, people who listen well, people who care
  • Organize your life, so you become proactive as opposed to reactive: make a plan
  • Reserve your energy for causes that are meaningful to you
  • Balance life with motion and intention: sing, dance, sit with silence

Please feel free to share your self-care advice and tips here. Collectively we can generate more ideas and possibly community practices.

Community Support

Now, more than ever, our Presidian community is a source of support. The student-led Mutual Aid Fund is an excellent example of our shared compassion and willingness to engage. Circle, the Friday Town Halls, and other virtual events are wonderful ways to stay grounded and connect with friends. Additionally, many of us are caring for parents, partners, and children. Be mindful of your wellbeing, which may help you avoid compassion fatigue.
