Brian’s passion is building brands around change-the-world ideas. He loves connecting new ideas to people in ways that transform markets and create a more livable world. Brian is currently shaping brand and customer experience for PowerDisc, a hydrogen fuel cell company based in Vancouver BC. Previously Brian served as Vice President of Marketing at Celilo Media, a B-Corp that uses mobile technology to help sustainable local businesses grow. He was also Managing Director and a founding partner of Character LLC, a firm that creates story frameworks for brands at clients like Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Frito-Lay, General Mills and Unilever. Brian began his career at the Coca-Cola Company, where he spent eight years in brand management, strategic planning, and new product development. He has also taught in the MBA Program at Portland State University, conducting classes on consumer behavior, business ethics, and social responsibility. He has been a co-founder of both B2B and B2C companies.
In his spare time, he is an avid fly-fisherman, science fiction reader and Duke basketball fan. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Robin and sons Owen and Oliver.
